While the game’s title is yet to be set, and the story remains undefined, I wanted to share a preview of my vision for the main menu screen. I feel the desire to inject a little story in the game, for the player to enjoy and smile over its sillyness, this warranted the idea for the menu system to feel like a living story, where the player’s choices have a little more meaning. This led me to do away with the mundane “Play”, “Options” and “Quit” buttons, to be replaced with suggestive snippets related to the relationship between the player and main character. The three paragraphs on the right page are examples of this, when the player mouses over one of the options I plan on making the text glow or change colour. At present, and as a concept, it will stay in Photoshop until I a ready to transition into Unity.
